This is the big brother to the excellent Ender 2 and cousin of the superb CR-10, so boasts an excellent lineage.
Many things are familiar looking about the Ender 3 compared with other Creality models. Unlike its numerical forebear, which featured a cantilever style that left the X-axis rail projecting into thin air, the Creality Ender 3 completes the loop and closes the frame out. The Ender 3 retains its CR-10 vibe, with aluminium extrusions comprising the frame and a single leadscrew driving the Z-axis from the left hand side of the frame. V-slot wheels run along the aluminium extrusions that comprise the Ender 3 frame providing a smooth motion.
The Creality Ender 3 features a heated print bed measuring out at 220 x 220 x 250mm. This sits off the ground atop an integrated base unit that contains both the mainboard and power supply unit. Additionally, the Creality Ender 3 comes with a BuildTak-like print bed sticker, which should mean fewer prints coming unstuck from the bed mid-print. On the right hand side of the Ender 3 frame there is an LCD display with control wheel. With the power supply and electronics relocated to under the printing bed, it removes the need for an external box with umbilical to power the printer, hot end and bed.
